While strengthening the partnership among countries involved in the Project is itself an important general objective, the project also aims at applying a pattern of endogenous and sustainable development that is in line with the following principles: support SMEs (given their employment and social contribution, as well as their embeddedness in the local context); sustain a long-term valorisation of local tangible (environment, sites of cultural heritage, typical handicraft and food, etc.) and intangible assets (culture, traditions, etc.).

To sum up, it is important to create and support new responsible tourism routes in the less famous areas of the three countries involved in the project. For these regions, where the tourism industry is not fully exploited and where the local market is far from being saturated, responsible tourism could represents a good opportunity for local communities and business organisations to improve their income and living conditions in general. These positive outcomes could be fully reached if some actual gaps will be overcome.
